With their own unique and regional heritage, often conjure up memories of times long gone. Yet they have somehow survived the 20th Century to become the most sought -after of brews. It is possible that Britain has the largest and most interesting selection of Traditional Ales with hundreds of established breweries producing a variety of ales. All however, use premium barley malt for the base of the brew and selected hops as flavouring. The individual flavour of each beer comes from it's unique brewing process.

Whatever your taste, be it mild or strong there is a traditional ale waiting to be discovered!

CALEDONIAN
Well balanced with fragrant, soft malt and dry aromatic hops to give a delicious fruity flavour. 4.1% ABV. 500ml

MACLAY SCOTCH ALE
Brewed from pure malt grist and the choicest whole hops, this Scotch ale is a pale golden brew, with a full-bodied malt flavour.. 5.0% ABV. 550ml

TENNENTS SPECIAL ALE Only the best hops and barley produce this wonderfully creamy beer. Brewed at the Wellpack Brewery, Scotland, established in 1556. 3.5% ABV 500ml

WALLACE I.P.A.
A classic I.P.A. Brewed with plenty of malty flavour and a rich hoppy finish. Named after the famous Scottish Knight, William Wallace. 4.5% ABV 500ml

GOLDEN PROMISE ORGANIC This Scottish ale has a fragrant bittersweet, malty taste with a satisfying floral hoppy finish. 5.0% ABV. 500ml

McEWANS 80/-
Smooth full bodied Scottish ale, made with the finest malt and classic roast barley. 4.5% ABV. 550ml

McEWANS 90/-
Smooth roasted flavour and a distinctive hop character. The name derives from the times when duty on beer was paid in shillings. 5.5% ABV 550ml

MACLAY THRAPPLE QUENCHER A golden blonde coloured ale, smooth and fruity in flavour with a delightful happy aroma and a long lingering finish. "trapple" meaning throat 5.2% ABV 500ml

BOMBARDIER CELEBRATION ALE
A premium bitter with a distinctive rich copper colour. A robust flavour derived from the finest barley malt 5.5% ABV. 500ml

HEN'S TOOTH BOTTLE CONDITIONED ALE
A satisfying blend of flavours with a pleasing dryness and a hint of fruit that leads to a smooth finish. 6.5% ABV. 500ml

TANNER'S JACK FINE ALE A flavoursome and well hopped ale that has been brewed to the old traditions for nearly 300 years. 4.4 % ABV. 500ml

MARSTONS OYSTER STOUT Rich, dark Oyster Stout is a smooth bottle-conditioned stout, ideal for drinking with oysters, shellfish and other foods...or simply by itself. 4.5 % ABV. 500ml

FIDDLER'S ELBOW
From the Wychwood Brewery. A wonderfully refreshing beer with earthly hop aromas and a long quenching and fruity finish. 5.2% ABV. 500ml

EVERARD'S TIGER
A true best bitter with a delicate hops aroma and full flavoured taste. 4.5% ABV. 500ml NRB

HOBGOBLIN
From the Wychwood Brewery in Witney, Oxfordshire. A powerful full-bodied copper red. A slight hoppy bitterness with a hint of fruit flavours, and long finish. 5.0% ABV. 500ml

OLD SPECKLED HEN DRAUGHT Strong pale ale which owes its distinctive character and dry taste to a unique strain of yeast. 5.2% ABV. 440ml CAN & 500ml NRB

MARSTONS SINGLE MALT This malt produces a unique brew as distinctive as a single malt whisky and a subtly different flavour from any other beer. 4.5 % ABV. 500ml

BANK'S BITTER
Bank's Original has been brewed in Wolverhampton for over 100 years. "A perfect balance of malty sweetness and aromatic bitterness" is how the head brewer describes its flavour 3.5% ABV. 500ml
